What We Do Not Do: Our Ethical and Legal Boundaries

At Cautus, we place the highest value on integrity, discretion, and professionalism. We operate strictly within the frameworks of Belgian and European legislation. Because the world of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) is sometimes misunderstood, we prefer to be completely transparent about our services. To protect our reputation and that of our clients, there are specific assignments that we refuse on principle.

1. We do not plant eavesdropping devices

Cautus is a defensive security company. Our expertise lies exclusively in detecting and neutralizing unwanted surveillance. Under no circumstances will we participate in planting hidden microphones, cameras, GPS trackers, or other espionage equipment to eavesdrop on or observe third parties.

2. We do not hack phones, computers, or accounts

We regularly receive requests to gain access to the smartphone, email, or WhatsApp messages of a partner, employee, or competitor. This is illegal. We do not conduct offensive cyber operations or hacking activities. Our Cyber-TSCM services are purely focused on securing your network and detecting vulnerabilities or pre-existing spyware.

3. We are not a ‘Spy Shop’

Cautus does not sell eavesdropping equipment, hidden cameras, or other espionage gadgets to individuals or companies. We exclusively provide high-end, professional TSCM services and advise on defensive security solutions.

4. We do not perform regular private investigator tasks

Although we assist VIPs and private individuals in detecting eavesdropping devices in their homes or vehicles, we are not a regular private investigation agency. We do not engage in physically tailing or following individuals (for example, in cases of suspected adultery or insurance fraud). If your case requires this, we can refer you to reliable, licensed private investigators within our network.
